What is Shiva Linga ?

We have heard some weird definition of Siva Linga from various Indologists. Most of them are from outside India, who do not have enough intelligence to understand Sanatana Dharma, or their dependents in India (mainly “social scientists” with no technical skill to earn a living).

To clearly understand that Siva Linga is , let us first understand the meaning of the word Linga in Sanskrit. For this let’s find its contextual meanings in different domains:

In Ayurveda:

Hetu: = cause of disease
Linga: = manifestation or symptom
Aushadha = remedy

In Ramayana:
Deva Linga = characteristic of God (glow, weightlessness etc)

In anatomy:
Purusha Lingam = object that symbolizes being a man = penis.

In Grammar:
Pu: Linga = manifestation of male gender in a word
Sthree Linga = manifestation of female gender in a word

Hence,

Its should be clear beyond any doubt that Linga means “that which represents”, or “that which is a manifestation of”.

Shiv Linga, thus is the symbol or manifestation of God Shiva, the supreme destroyer of aberrations in the universe. For a devotee bowing down before a Shiva Linga, the Linga is Shiva himself.

Let there be no confusion on this.

Further Note:

Similar is the case of the term Yoni too.
Yoni = enclosed space.
In human anatomy, vagina is called Yoni, as it is an enclosed space too.
Depending on context the word Yoni could mean – home, next, abode, seat, room etc.

For the absolute bookworms who still believe this British Lie, just remember this simple rule:

PENIS IS A SYMBOL OF MANHOOD. ALL SYMBOLS ARE NOT PENISES.
VAGINA IS AN ENCLOSED SPACE. ALL ENCLOSED SPACES ARE NOT VAGINAS!

[BRITISH PROPAGATED MISCONCEPTION HENCE DESTROYED.]
